David Mullen is CEO of Shelf Drilling. Mr. Mullen has over 30 years experience in the oil services business, including four years as a senior leader of the world's largest offshore drilling company, Transocean. As a Senior Vice President of Global Marketing, Business Development and M&A at Transocean, Mr. Mullen spearheaded marketing and strategic planning.
From September 2010 to April 2011, Mr. Mullen was CEO of Wellstream Holdings PLC, a UK listed company that designed and manufactured subsea pipeline products and included as part of the product offering, subsea services and installation. From April 2008 to August 2010, Mr. Mullen served as Chief Executive Officer of Ocean Rig ASA, a Norwegian listed ultra-deep water drilling contractor. Prior to Ocean Rig ASA, Mr. Mullen had a 23-year career at Schlumberger, including as President of Oilfield Services for North and South America. Mr. Mullen received a B.A. in Geology & Physics from Trinity College Dublin and an M.S. degree in Geophysics from University College Galway..
Kurt Hoffman is Chief Operating Officer of Shelf Drilling. Prior to joining Shelf Drilling, Kurt was Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Seahawk Drilling, a Houston and Gulf of Mexico-based Jackup drilling provider where he was responsible for the company's daily operations and strategic business plan implementation.
Kurt spent 18 years at Noble Drilling where he held senior operational and executive roles, including Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Vice President of Western Hemisphere Operations and President of Noble's engineering services divisions, Triton Engineering Services. Kurt received a B.Sc. degree from Southwest Texas State University.
Ian Clark is Executive Vice President of Shelf Drilling, responsible for the transition of all Shelf Drilling operations from Transocean as well as other senior human resources, information technology and strategic roles. Prior to joining Shelf Drilling, Ian had over 12 years experience with Transocean where he most recently served as Vice President of Human Resources. Previous roles included Division Manager for Transocean's operations in North East Asia and also Managing Director for Nigeria.
Before joining Transocean, Ian enjoyed a 20-year career with Schlumberger in various managerial, technical and marketing roles across Europe and Africa. Ian has a B.Sc. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland and graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Andrew Roberts is CFO of Shelf Drilling. Andrew has extensive international experience in senior financial roles in the energy sector having spent the last 25 years working for Shell.
Prior to joining Shelf Drilling, Andrew's most recent role was Executive Vice President Finance of Shell Trading, a global marketing and trading business covering crude oil, refined products, natural gas, liquefied natural gas, power and emissions. Since September 2008, Andrew has also been Chair of the Supervisory Board of Shell Asset Management Company. In his role at Shell Trading, he was a key member of the leadership team and responsible for circa 430 finance, risk and compliance personnel. As part of the Shell Supervisory Board, Andrew had responsibility for the effective governance and control of the assets of the major Shell pension funds.
Previous roles include Executive Vice President Finance at Shell Gas & Power, Shell Retail, and Shell Trading North America, Business Services Manager for Shell's joint venture operations in the Central UK North Sea and Head of Finance IT and Senior Internal Auditor for Petroleum Development Oman. In addition Andrew has held finance positions at Dow Chemical and external audit positions with Deloitte. Andrew has worked and lived in the UK, Zambia, Dubai, Sultanate of Oman, USA and the Netherlands and has travelled the globe extensively undertaking his various roles. Andrew is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and has a BA in Economics from the University of Manchester.
Dzul Bakar is Shelf Drilling's Vice President and General Counsel, having previously performed a similar role as Associate General Counsel at Transocean where he assumed various legal, governance, compliance and operational responsibilities.
Dzul has a strong background in international operations with over 17 years experience and responsibilities covering the United States, Caspian Sea, Middle East, and Asia. Prior to joining Transocean, Dzul spent six years at Schlumberger in a variety of legal roles of increasing responsibilities with postings in Singapore, Jakarta and Houston. At the beginning of his career, Dzul also practiced as an advocate and solicitor at a leading Malaysian law firm. Dzul holds a combined degree in Economics and Law from the University of Tasmania and in 2011 completed an executive Management Acceleration Program at INSEAD Business School.
Simon Rushton is Vice President, Operations at Shelf Drilling and joins the company after spending his entire working life at Transocean. In a 29-year career, Simon has held a wide variety of key operational roles at Transocean, culminating in his last position as General Manager of the Mediterranean (MED) Division, based in Cairo.
Other Transocean roles include General Manager of the Far East and Australia (FEA) division, Director of Asset Management, and a number of positions as Division Manager, Operations Manager and Rig Manager in Asia, North America, South America, Europe and the Middle East. Simon has a B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Houston.
Jean Hahusseau is Vice President for Human Resources at Shelf Drilling. Jean has more than 30 years experience with Transocean, starting as a trainee engineer in 1982 towards his most recent position as Director of Total Rewards for Transocean prior to joining Shelf Drilling.
At Transocean, Jean occupied various operational positions, such as rig manager and district manager in West Africa, Middle East and Asia as well as safety manager for Europe & Africa. Jean was also Director of Human Resources for the Europe & Africa Unit before taking up his post as Director of Total Rewards. Jean graduated from the École d'Ingénieurs en Construction Aéronautique in Toulouse, France.
Abhishek Kumar is Shelf Drilling's Vice President of Technical Services. Prior to joining Shelf Drilling, Abhishek most recently held the role of Operations Manager of Reactivations at Transocean, overseeing various reactivation projects of the company.
Abhishek worked at Transocean for ten years, serving in technical and operational roles in the Middle East and Asia. He holds a BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology and general MBA from Harvard Business School.
Michael Mezzina is Vice President and Controller at Shelf Drilling. Prior to joining Shelf Drilling, Michael most recently held the role of Global Finance Director at Transocean, financially overseeing the worldwide operations of the company.
Michael has worked at Transocean for over 16 years and has a wide range of accounting and finance experience, where he served in different capacities of increasing responsibilities. This included the positions of Division Controller, Business Unit Controller and Director of Accounting, Corporate, with postings in West Africa, Europe, Egypt and the United States.
Michael graduated from the Normandy Business School, France, with a Master's degree in Finance.
